BlueGreen RIA Platform includes a free and open source Integrated Development Environment for Actionscript, Flex, Javascript and HTML
projects. With extensibility in mind, we are working on a plugin mechanism for project management, code browsing,
svn, Adobe Catalyst integration and much more.
We are hoping that our Project Management suite will bring a new standard into the field.
Since this is all about RIA and the Web, the IDE itself should look and behave like a web 2.0 project. It is very difficult
to achieve a fancy and fluid experience with current IDE frontends. Thus, we decided to exploit Intel's Clutter graphics library
for our needs. Clutter has so much in common with Actionscript and Flash, easing our jobs tremendously.
One striking feature of the BlueGreen RIA IDE is the built in Neko Virtual Machine. Users will be able to write their own IDE
plugins with the Haxe language, and all will be compiled instantly and will work across platforms.
Speaking of platforms, we will be releasing the IDE first for Linux, than for Mac. Currently we do not have any plans
to support Windows.
We are planning on releasing an open source public alpha version in 2010 April.
